ONNSFA's 2021-2022 Academic Year Online Application Opens

March 19, 2021 - The Office of Navajo Nation Scholarship & Financial Assistance鈥檚 online application for the 2021-2022 academic term is now open at and will close on June 25. Online applications submitted before the June 25 deadline cover the upcoming Fall and Spring semesters or Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters. Documents submitted to ONNSFA will be posted to student accounts within two to three business days.
To apply:
- Go to www.onnsfa.org
- Click on 鈥淚 want to apply online!鈥
- Choose either the Full-Time or Part-Time Application.
Note: Ensure all entries are accurate and submit the application ONCE to avoid filing multiple applications. Submitting inaccurate information or multiple online applications will delay processing time.

Applicants must complete and submit an application for the 2021-2022 academic year. The application may be found at www.onnsfa.org. - Certificate of Indian Blood
New applicants must submit an official Certificate of Indian Blood verifying Navajo enrollment to an agency office. Continuing applicants are not required to submit another official CIB if there is already one on file unless there is a legal name change. Sealed and unopened official high school transcripts, GED scores, and official transcripts of all colleges attended must be submitted to an agency office electronically or via USPS mail. - Financial Need Analysis
All students are required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Full-time applicants: Submit the ONNSFA鈥檚 Financial Need Analysis form to your school鈥檚 financial aid office. A Financial Aid Officer at your school will complete the document based on the FAFSA鈥檚 information and return it directly to the ONNSFA. The FNA may be accessed here: - Letter of Admission
A Letter of Admission or Re-Admission from the institution the applicant will attend is required. The institution must be accredited by one of six regional accrediting associations recognized by ONNSFA. (A list may be found on page 5 of ONNSFA鈥檚 Policies and Procedures. A document verifying a student鈥檚 enrollment is required from students who have already submitted a Letter of Admission but have not been funded for at least one term.
Graduate applicants must submit two letters of admission indicating full admission status, including one from the graduate college and another from the graduate degree program. - Graduation Degree Checklist
All college juniors, seniors, graduate and part-time applicants must submit a list of all courses required to complete their degree program. The checklist must include an 鈥渆xpected鈥 graduation date and have an advisor鈥檚 signature. - Class Schedule
Applicants may upload the following documents in .pdf format to their student account: Letter of admission, graduation degree checklist, and class schedule. All other documents may be mailed to an agency office.

- Click on 鈥淐reate an account鈥
- Set up an account with a desired user name and password.
To check your application status:
- Go to www.onnsfa.org
- Click on 鈥淐heck my document status鈥
- Access your student account for a list of documents received/outstanding and retrieve award or denial notices when ONNSFA counselors render a decision on your application.
