RECENT CHANGES TO PUBLIC HEALTH ORDERS

May 14, 2020 - There has been a lot of information communicated from local and state officials over the past few days, so we thought it would be beneficial to provide a list of recent changes to public health orders or restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic:
- ÂÜÀòÑо¿Ëù’s council passed an ordinance requiring the use of face masks in public, which takes effect on Monday, May 18, 2020. Anyone over the age of two is required to wear a mask or face covering while in a public place.
- From the governor: Effective Saturday, May 16, masks will be required for all New Mexicans in public places. ÂÜÀòÑо¿Ëù would fall under this order, requiring face masks as early as Saturday.
- The Navajo Nation already has a , requiring masks in public.
- The Northwest Region of New Mexico—including ÂÜÀòÑо¿Ëù--enters the state’s ‘Preparation Phase’ on Saturday, May 16:
- Non-essential retailers may provide curbside pickup or delivery
- Golf courses, pet and veterinary services may open
- Stay-at-home orders remain in place
- If you must go out, maintain physical distance at least 6 feet from others
- Congregating in groups remains unsafe and is prohibited
- COVID testing is available statewide at all NMDOH public health offices. Find a location using this directory:
