Grants
Grants are awarded based on need as determined by your FAFSA® and do not have to be paid back. These include the Federal Pell Grant, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) ,the State Student Incentive Grant (SSIG) and College Affordability Grant.
Federal Pell Grant
The Federal Pell Grant is the largest of the federal need-based grant programs. Eligibility is based on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid () results. Federal Pell Grant are awarded only to undergraduate students, who have not earned a bachelor’s or a professional degree.

Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
The Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) is a grant awarded to students with exceptional financial need. To get a SEOG, you must fill out the so the college can determine how much financial need you have.

State Student Incentive Grant (SSIG)
NM Student Incentive Grant is for resident undergraduate students with substantial financial need who are attending public and private non-profit institutions in New Mexico.
Duration:
One year and may be renewed on an annual basis or until the student graduates with a bachelor’s degree from an eligible institution.
Requirements:
NM Resident, enrolled at least half time as an undergraduate student, and has completed a HS diploma or GED.

College Affordability Grant
The College Affordability Grant is in place to encourage New Mexico students with financial need, who do not qualify for other state grants and scholarships, to attend and complete educational programs at a New Mexico public college or university.
Duration:
One year and may be renewed on an annual basis or until the student graduates with a bachelor’s degree.
Requirements:
NM Resident, enrolled at least half time and has has completed a HS Diploma or GED.
